Employment opportunities outside of academia for researchers at risk
The Inspireurope+ project, which coordinates and strengthens support for researchers at risk across Europe, held a webinar on 29 October between 13h and 14.15h CET on identifying employment opportunities outside of academia for researchers at risk.
The first speaker, whose presentation is not recorded, focused on transition from PhD to industry, and what to focus on to enhance opportunities outside of academia, providing an overview for researchers at risk on how to upskill and the key skills required for securing employment outside of academia, including networking, volunteering and attending workshops. The second speaker, Dr Pujari, went through various routes that researchers at risk could explore outside of academia, providing key examples of the types of roles available. Both speakers allowed significant time for Q&A at the end of their presentations.
This webinar is part of an Inspireurope+ series of webinars for at-risk researchers and has been implemented by Cara on behalf of the project’s Consortium.
Speakers:
- Dr Amit N. Pujari, Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at University of Hertfordshire
- A Cara Alumna
