Connecting support for researchers at risk to institutional values and strategies
The third leadership roundtable took place as a pre-event to the 2024 Philipp Schwartz and Inspireurope stakeholder forum in Berlin. The event comprised presentation of two case studies: the Excellence in Exile programme at Maynooth University, Ireland and Welcoming researchers at risk at the University of Strasbourg, France. Participants then split into three small groups for discussion and exchange on framing support for researchers at risk, building a culture of academic freedom and solidarity across institutions, the role of universities in supporting researchers at risk at the national policy level, as well as solved and unsolved challenges.
